a friend, not a helpdesk.

nudgi is a small, intentionally simple app. most things you might want to do live one or two clicks away. if something here doesn't cover what you're looking for, write us — we read every email.

installing nudgi

  1. download the .dmg from getnudgi.app.
  2. open the disk image, then drag nudgi.app into your applications folder.
  3. launch nudgi. the first run asks if you want it to launch at login — your choice, change any time in settings.
  4. that's it. a small ✿ appears in your menu bar. the first nudge slides down from your notch sometime today.

nudgi requires macos 13 (ventura) or later and runs natively on apple silicon and intel macs.

changing pace, hours, or exercises

click the ✿ in the menu bar → settings. from there you can:

making nudgi quieter for a while

click the menu bar ✿ and choose pause. you can pause for 30 minutes, an hour, or until tomorrow. paused nudgi is completely silent — no scheduling, no fires. it picks up from where it left off when the timer runs out.

i'm on an older mac without a notch

you're fine. on macs without a notch — intel laptops, external monitors, lid-closed clamshell — nudges appear as a small floating pill at the top of the screen. same shape, same feel, same options.

the nudge didn't go away after i clicked done

a nudge stays on screen for up to 5 minutes — that's the deadline for marking it done. if it's still there after that, quit and relaunch nudgi from the menu bar. if it happens twice, please email us with your macos version — that's a bug, not a feature.

removing nudgi

  1. quit nudgi from the menu bar (✿ → quit).
  2. drag nudgi.app from applications to the trash.
  3. if you want to wipe local data too, remove ~/library/application support/nudgi from your home folder.

where do my completed nudges live?

in a local core data store at ~/library/application support/nudgi. nudgi keeps roughly the last 30 days of history and prunes older rows automatically. nothing is uploaded — see privacy for the full picture.

reporting a bug or asking for a feature

email us. include your macos version, the nudgi version (✿ → about), and a short description of what you saw. screenshots help when the notch is involved.
